“Find It” Challenge: The foundation photograph of this image was shot at a local residence demolition.

Later, I giggled while inserting some “photo-shopped” surprises.

Can you find:
• shadows of 3 humans –
• a clock –
• an old camera –
• a wailing man –
• and a modern sculpture of a thi...

You can find the location of “Picnic By The Stream” in many places around the world – but, I transformed the original view I saw - for you.

Now, in the time that has passed since the foundation photograph was taken – I no longer remember the time of day, the month . . . and it’s best to forget t...

“Autumn Floats On The Pond” has been washed with bright color and best hopes for warm hearts.

It no longer matters what the original photograph looked like.

“What it was” evolved into “what it could be” – the choice all brave scenes must make - to live again in a different way.

“Refuge Off The Path” is an image that hoped to be treated gently – soft colors, muted lines – words that curve gently around the idea.

It’s already autumn . . . but, the image still clings to green.

You can see the little path in the distance . . . which we shall take - when we are willing...

Sold to a client in Nashville, TN, this lustrous hand-turned, cherry vase resulted from a delightful collaboration of the woodwork artist, Bob Deever, and his client.

Although starting as a block 6 x 6 x 12, this cherry lament is now 11 .5 inches tall by 4.75 inches wide.

The “Jeweled Forest” is both warm and cold – as the time between summer and winter is.

Still – we climb up and down through that forest, as often as we can . . . searching for sapphires, emeralds, rubies and amethysts.

There's no reward in looking for diamonds now. They will fall, scattered on...

Testimonials

River Dee Design has an immense quality of design and personality. Catherine’s outstanding talent to view nature, landscapes, structures, architecture, and photography with all the shapes and colors gives me a sense of energy and emotion, and at the same time a sense of calmness. I love the feeling of fresh spontaneity, boldness, and movement; some soft and peaceful, some lively. Catherine’s many years of art devotion is clearly a gift sent down from up above.

As a commercial artist, I endeavor to look at a variety of different artistic mediums. Catharine Deever sees shapes and moods, expresses them with a vibrant swath of colors. She has the ability to initially grab a viewer with a wide pallet of hues. She then draws her audience into exploring the scenes, which she has very carefully selected. She sees what many might view as mundane. Transforming the image into a visual experience, leaving the viewer wanting more. It is obvious that Catharine’s vision, has required many painstaking years to hone, the right feel, mood and expression. Each one of her pieces is a visual journey into her love of color, shape and emotion.

I was blessed one day to see Catharine and River Dee Designs on LinkedIn. I get a daily pleasure to see the beautiful and inspiring art that she creates. The stories that go with each piece of art has meaning and insight. It makes you think about what it means to you and also what it can mean to everyone else. Her art is truly inspirational and meaningful. What she can create from a photograph is amazing, even more amazing is some of the photos are 50+ years old. I highly recommend anyone reading this to go to there website and see the amazing art that they create.
